The Soldier’s Prayer, written (in 1912) by Turkish nationalist poet Ziya Gokalp says of minarates: “The minarets are our bayonets, the domes our helmets, the mosques our barracks and the faithful our army.”
The minaret has a practical purpose. It is used to sound the “call to prayer.” But the minaret has a greater meaning, one that is unbeknownst to most Westerners. In the culture of Islam and for those who ascribe to the purposes of radical or political Islam the minaret is a symbolic weapon – it is as the poem suggests, the bayonet for the mosque which is the “barracks” for a faithful army.
“Sharia and Violence in American Mosques” a new survey published in The Middle East Quarterly, Summer 2011, Vol. 18, No. 3, (Kedar M, Yerushalmi D) examined a cross section of mosques in the United States and found that:
- 81% of U.S. mosques promote jihad
- 95% of Muslims attend mosques with Jihadist literature
- Sharia-compliant behavior was strongly associated with the presence of violent literature.
- The preponderance of US mosques sanction jihad terrorism and its ultimate goal of a Caliphate (i.e., the transnational imposition of strict Islamic law in current Muslim nations, and ultimately global imposition of Islamic Law, including in the US [Andrew Bostom, [Mosques as Barraks in America]
Now, with this knowledge, let’s look closer to home – that is if you are a reader here in Nebraska – specifically Omaha, Nebraska. (If you are elsewhere, this might still pertain to a mosque near you. – after all, 81% of all mosques in the US is still 81%)
The Islamic Center of Omaha (ICO), has been busy remodeling and the project includes the building of a new minaret The question of whether or not this minaret will be sounded 5 times every day (starting as early as 5 or 6 am) is yet to be seen or rather, heard.

Perhaps the remodeling of a building, any building, is of little consequence to most of us.
However, the ICO is not just any building.
The Islamic Center of Omaha is deeded to the North American Islamic Trust (AKA – NAIT).
NAIT represents at least two things:
- Saudi Arabian dollars and Saudi Arabia ascribes to the most violent form of Islam, Whabbisim
- NAIT is a Muslim Brotherhood front group
So what does this mean?
I strongly suggest it means getting active, becoming educated and getting involved in the politics of our city and our state because right now, the evidence is leaning towards the ICO being one of the 81% of the US mosques that will have radical literature and once again have a radical Imam.

Sounds like you have too much time on your hands, but not enough time to get the facts straight. To find out more about NAIT and what they actually do, visit http://www.nait.net/
